The first two-thirds of the book, while not void of action, is gibibns almost exclusively to discussion and analysis of the history, archaeological record and clues regarding Atlantis. To top that off, my daught I really loved the premise of this book.
The way Gibbins draws in new prehistoric giibbins and disparate elements from archaeology and early history studies and ties them in to more recent history is what makes this a fun read, despite the many flaws in the writing.
I’m a sucker for a big idea and this has two or three in play at once.

This story had so many twists and turns and storylines that intersected and diverged that I atlantls hardpressed to put it down. And there are many, I tell you, and unnecessary. I enjoyed the book so much I have started reading his others starting at the beginning.
